Our Focus

The Coalition for Sustainable Solutions (CoFoSS) exists to establish and maintain a circular solution for the supply of consumer electronics (CE). As part of its vision and purpose, the Coalition for Sustainable Solutions seeks to reduce the impacts of CE through its lifetime, from the undertaking of repair, resale, repurposing and recycling, in conjunction with the collection of end-of-life product and packaging materials with the transformation back to raw materials for reuse.

Through a coalition of retail and supplier leaders, CoFoSS will be a representative board to influence and collaborate within the business sector and across the Government, Private Sector and Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) to achieve shared sustainability goals.

PRODUCT STEWARDSHIP

CoFoSS will oversee a product's environmental impact from creation to disposal, encouraging recycling and reducing waste, conserving resources by reusing materials instead of relying on new ones.

PACKAGING STEWARDSHIP

CoFoSS aims to administer the environmental impact of packaging materials, emphasizing responsible management to cut waste, save resources, and reduce environmental harm linked to packaging. This involves recycling or disposing of packaging properly.

PARTNERSHIPS

CoFoSS encourages collaboration between stakeholders including manufacturers, government agencies, environmental organisations and retailers to develop and implement effective policies and practices.

Goals

CoFoSS’s initiatives play a crucial role in combatting climate change and advancing Climate Action by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, promoting a circular economy, conserving resources, raising consumer awareness and advocating for policies that support sustainability.

CoFoSS’s contribution will significantly impact the achievement of Responsible Consumption and Production by promoting responsible consumption and production through waste reduction and sustainable materials fostering a more sustainable and equitable future.

CoFoSS’s initiatives are instrumental in advancing Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure by fostering innovation, promoting sustainable industrialisation. Enhancing infrastructure and facilitating responsible consumption and production practices thereby supporting economic growth and technological progress.
